Mr & Mrs Wooldridge

Our old house had a large garden, which we always felt had building potential. Having decided the time had come to move, we looked into getting outline planning permission. This led us to Granville, initially just to help with plans and planning permission.

He proved to be enthusiastic and persuasive, about both the desirability of our plot, and that we would be better off building first and selling a house rather than just the land. He showed us suitable designs for the shape and size of the land and we spoke with a few old customers. They were all very positive about his service and their new houses. We also met one couple with a house similar to the one we were planning. We were impressed.

Granville managed the whole process from planning application onwards. The site was cleared and footings dug in December 2001.

A problem with the nature of the soil meant changing the floor from concrete to block and beam but this only delayed things by a couple of weeks and was the only notable issue. The house flew up with assorted tradesmen coming as necessary and we moved in at the beginning of September 2002. This date was much to coincide with the sale of our old house as anything. We were always involved in the details, but took on board much good advice - underfloor heating downstairs for example - just do it!
